As part of Tencent's AI restructuring, Technology Engineering Group (TEG), one of the company's six major business units, has created two new divisions.
The AI Infrastructure division was “responsible for developing the technical capabilities of large-scale model training and inference platforms,” while the Data Computing Platform team was tasked with “establishing a comprehensive full-stack services capability for building integrated big data and machine learning at scale,” according to an internal announcement confirmed by three people.
Mr. Yao was also appointed Head of LLM Development and AI Infrastructure at TEG, reporting to Group President Lu Shan.
The company renamed its existing data platform team to “AI Data” and was tasked with providing “high-quality data services for large-scale model pre-training, post-training, and model applications.”
