Tempe, Arizona (AZFamily) — When you're sending someone a card, whether it's a birthday or a thank you note, receiving something handwritten can make it feel more sentimental.
Writing cards can take some time, especially if you want to send a large number of cards.
Tempe companies are leveraging robotics and AI to save time and, in some cases, reduce hand cramps.
Arizona's family traveled to Tempe to meet Handwrytten CEO David Wacks.
His company uses robotics to write letters as if they were written by hand.
“They're writing memos on behalf of 10,000 different people,” Wax said. Their machines allow him to write 10,000 to 20,000 letters a day. “You just write as you would with a regular ballpoint pen,” Wax says.
Robots can write in a variety of handwriting styles, and if they have the money, they can even use AI to imitate your handwriting. “Work with us and we will create a custom style for you,” Wax said.
Choose from hundreds of cards or design your own. They will also ship letters on your behalf.
“We don't have to do anything. We go to the post office every day because we have a mail machine here and they stamp our cards,” Wax said.
The robot is designed and built in Tempe. Mr Wax said his company's machines were used around the world, including in Australia.
Wax said he came up with the idea to start the company when he wanted to write a thank you letter to a former employee during his last sale.
