In a Study on Learning Platform Quizlet, 85% of high school, university and teachers said they were using AI technology compared to 66% in 2024. This is an increase of 29% from the previous year. The survey was voted by 2,003 respondents across the United States. This is because 1,002 students ages 14-22, 500 high school or university level teachers, and 501 high school students gain perspectives on AI implementation, digital learning and engagement, student success, and more.

Teachers each outperformed students in AI recruitment, 87% vs. 84% respectively. This again represents a change from the 2024 survey results, when students' AI usage was slightly higher than teachers. The AI usage reported by the top teacher is as follows:

• Research (cited by 54% of teacher respondents);
• Summary or synthesis of information (47%); and
• Generate classroom materials (45%) such as tests and assignments.

On the student side, Top AI was similar.

In general, positive attitudes towards AI and education outweighed negative attitudes at 43% vs. 37%, respectively. Also, 40% of respondents said they believe AI will be used ethically and effectively in the classroom. However, Quizlet points out that students are less likely to feel this method (29%) compared to parents (46%) and teachers (57%), suggesting that more education and guidelines for the responsible use of AI technology are needed.

“Like other new technologies, AI presents incredible opportunities, but also responsibility to use it thoughtfully,” commented Maureen Lamb, chairman of the AI task force and chairman of the language department at Miss Porters School in Farmington, Connecticut. “As adoption increases in education, clear guidelines need to be used to reduce risk and unlock the full potential of AI. Everyone, students, educators and parents, can play a role in understanding not only how to use AI, but when and why it should be used.”
