Splice said on Wednesday (January 21) that the acquisition “further advances” its long-term strategy to “develop responsible, creator-first generative AI technology.”

Splice’s acquisition of Spitfire Audio in May 2025 paved the way for the launch of Splice’s INSTRUMENT virtual instrument product.
It also builds on a series of product and partnership milestones over the past year, including Splice Sounds’ direct integration with Ableton and a broader partnership with Universal Music Group in December 2025 to “collaborate on the next generation of AI-powered music creation tools for artists.”
