Southfield-based fintech company Credibly has been awarded a new patent (U.S. Patent No. US 12,505,113 B2) from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for integrating generative AI and machine learning directly into the core infrastructure of small business finance.
“Each new patent we have acquired strengthens our long-term commitment to building durable, purposeful AI infrastructure for small business financing, and doing so in a way that actually improves access to capital for small businesses,” said Ryan Rosset, co-founder and co-CEO of Credible.
“This is not about experimenting with AI around the edge, but rather operating it in a way that meaningfully improves speed, accuracy, and outcomes for small business owners.”
Building on previous patent grants, this new innovation reportedly reflects how Credibly’s platform continues to evolve, offering enhancements to the company’s technology systems and methodologies for applying machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI.
These enhancements are designed to assess affordability, build loan offers, and automate complex underwriting workflows at scale. Together, these innovations are designed to help Credibly deliver faster decision-making, more accurate offer matching, and a more consistent experience for small business owners navigating the financing process.
“This patent represents another step in making AI a foundational feature across Credibly’s platform,” said Minyang “MJ” Jiang, Credibly’s Chief Strategy Officer. “We have been thoughtful about developing AI systems that scale responsibly, always keeping the real-world needs of small businesses top of mind.”
