Openai's new video app, Sora can generate footage that does all sorts of things. However, one thing you can't create is to invite enough code to satisfy everyone who is desperate to join the platform.
For now, Openai is restricting access to Sora, the Tiktok-Sque AI video and audio app. New users will also be given four invitation codes to share with friends.
Less than a day after its launch, there are already signs that some users are abusing their systems to try to get the spots they are sought after.
Business Insider has already discovered over 20 completed sales on eBay for Sora Invite code, ranging from $10.99 to under $45.
According to eBay's digital items policy, “Software keys are not permitted by sellers” cannot be sold. A spokesperson for the online auction site did not immediately respond to Business Insider's question whether the SORA Insider code would be included in this.
Openai has posted a message to the official Sora 2 Discord. This warns users against the sale of the code as it violates the server's terms of service.
“There is a high demand for Soracode,” the message read. “Beware of server rules and beware of any direct messages you may receive. You are prohibited from selling code through a server.”

OpenAI Terms of Use state that users cannot “change, copy, lease, sell or distribute our services.” An Openai spokesman did not immediately respond to a request for comment from BI.
SORA is powered by Openai's new SORA two models, and the company says it is “more physically accurate, realistic and controllable than its previous systems.” That first launch is limited to the US and Canada. Openai also only released the app on Apple's App Store, but it has promised that its Android counterpart is ongoing.
As of Wednesday afternoon, Sora was the third top free app on Apple's store, tracking only ChatGpt and Google's Gemini.
