Sora’s AI video generator app explodes on Android
Sora’s AI video generation model has previously released clients for the Android series and is trending for downloads on Google Play. The app received over 500,000 downloads within the first 24 hours of its launch.
How does the Sora Android app work?
The app has a very familiar interface and is similar to TikTok with a recommendation feed, likes, and commenting features. The main difference is that all video content in the platform is created by users using Sora AI models.
There are two modes in which users can create videos. One mode provides a text description, and the other mode uses the Cameo feature that allows the user to mention another user that is rendered in the generated video.
Generation and usage restrictions
In addition to the video, the Sora model generates each sound in the clip. OpenAI has never publicly declared any restrictions on app generation. Nevertheless, the developers once said that they would impose limits on attempts to generate free and eventually introduce monetization mechanisms that would require payment if famous characters are used in videos.

The Sora client for Android is currently available to users in the following regions:

Eventually, the available area will be expanded.
