Sora 2 is amazing and scary

The AI ​​future we promised has finally arrived. It's wonderful and scary.

Openai's new Sora 2 video app is fun. It's fun and stupid, goofy and creative. I really loved making funny videos using images of me and my friends.

But read that last sentence again. The other side of all this wonder is also a scary part. This is the first time I've felt that AI is approaching imitating real life. In other words, watching these Sora videos may have a hard time telling you what is realistic and what is fake.

Fakes can be a big problem, especially when they are made with intent to mislead or harm. Sora feels like a step into a new world where she doesn't fully understand the rules.

Ai finally blows my mind

Over the past few years I have used generator AI apps like ChatGpt in many ways. Most of them are neither particularly exciting nor interesting. Basic search and work productivity. ai feels like a handy tool, but really nothing It blows my mind away. Up to Sora 2.

After playing around with Sora 2 for the past few days, you can see how it is a breakthrough. That's what I actually used.

SORA isn't making the best AI video ever, and although it's not the first social AI video feed (meta has something called Vibes), it has unlocked it.

The atmosphere was manly. Without the ability to tell the app to “make a video where I'm getting arrested,” it's boring to watch random screensaver slops. Sora's key – and what's more widely locked is the ability to see itself.

Sora 2 also brings concerns

It is also very obviously concerning. You don't have to be an AI pessimist to see the very clear potential harm of a tool that can create surreal videos of other people's portraits with just a few taps.
