The Sonoma Valley Unified School District Board of Directors will hold a joint meeting this week featuring a presentation by the district’s July 11 Committee, followed by its regular monthly meeting, which will include possible approval of the second interim financial report for the 2025-26 school year.
The joint meeting will be held Thursday, March 12, at the Sonoma City Chambers, 177 W. First Street, and is open to the public and can be accessed online at sonomaschools-org.zoom.us/j/98942316176.
Shortly after 4 p.m., the first part of the meeting will feature a presentation by the 7-11 Committee followed by an opportunity for public comment on the instructions board members will provide to the committee.
7-11 The Committee advises the Board on the optimal use or disposal of school buildings and property no longer needed for educational purposes.
Following the presentations and discussion, the first portion of the meeting will be adjourned at approximately 5:00 p.m., after which the monthly regular meeting will begin with the Board’s approval of items on the closed agenda, followed by a period of public comment on the items.
The trustees will then meet behind closed doors and reappear around 6 p.m. Opportunities for public comment will be provided for agreements and regular agenda items before they are discussed.
In addition to the release and possible approval of the district’s second interim financial report for the 2025-26 school year, the regular agenda also includes presentations on career and technical education programs, updates on the energy modernization program, public hearings and possible approval of subsequent developer fee increases, and discussion and possible approval of policies regarding the use of artificial intelligence for students.
After the regular agenda items are discussed, there will be a public comment period on potential future agenda items.
