Shark is circling Openai

AI News

Despite all the competition, Openai is still the leader of this space, making its own move that is likely to worry about its rivals.

For example, we plan to launch a new AI-powered web browser that could compete with current industry leader Google Chrome. The browser embeds ChatGPT and features an AI agent that can handle tasks such as booking reservations and filling out forms.

It also secured a $200 million contract to provide AI support to the US military. Openai will help develop its ability to “measure important national security challenges in both the combat and enterprise domains” in June. Openai previously partnered with Anduril, a defense technology company from Palmer Luckey.

Openai is also forming a more playful partnership. Last month, Mattel announced that he would work with Openai to take AI to Barbie, the iconic doll.

Using Openai's technology, Mattel “conveys the magic of AI to an age-appropriate play experience with a focus on innovation, privacy and safety,” the California-based toy maker told the news.

Altman is at least publicly optimistic.

“I have never seen any company see growth, whether or not I am involved in this way,” he said at a TED conference in Vancouver in April. “ChatGpt's growth – it's really fun. I'm deeply honored. But it's crazy to keep living.”
