Seriously paying attention to complaints about the dissemination of misinformation related to principles through Gurbani, Sikh history and through artificial intelligence (AI) tools, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) approached several challenged AI platforms.

SGPC President Haljinder Singh Dami said that during this age of technology, AI distorted the portrayal of Sikh masters and historical stories through AI-generated content, particularly modified images.
He emphasized that Guru Grant Sahib is the highest authority of the Sikhs and that tampering with his sacred poems is not permitted. However, certain AI applications presented a distorted version of Gurbani, which was disrespectful and victimized.
He added that SGPC has received numerous objections in this regard and has formally called for immediate corrective action to the AI platform via email.
Dhami also avoids relying on such apps for spiritual learning to the Sikh community, and instead refer to genuine historical materials about accurate knowledge of Sikh history and traditions.
The SGPC president also appealed to Home Minister Amit Shah, asking the government to officially recognize this sensitive issue and frame specific policies to curb such practices.
