Companies are paying big bucks to get the latest and greatest artificial intelligence tools, but AI is often underutilized when business objectives aren’t related to technology. . Senzai wants to change the landscape for companies in Latin America.

After leaving their respective jobs, Julian Lopez-Portillo and Darren Timmins co-founded the Mexico City-based company about a year ago. Lopez-Portillo worked for software company Afiniti, where he was the head of product building performance measurement and predictive modeling products. using AI. Timmons, who also worked briefly with Afiniti, was responsible for data and enterprise his architecture at a UK telecommunications company.

CEO Lopez-Portillo told TechCrunch that he’s seen companies of all sizes struggle with how to implement predictive modeling as it’s being created. Instead, they focused on showering offers, discounts, and promotions on a small number of customers they thought could influence their results.

Lopez-Portillo said: “Latin American companies are more focused on building tools than solving problems, so we see a huge opportunity to bring some of these learnings about how AI can be implemented to Latin American companies.” “I thought there was an uncovered niche where companies could build tools that solve this real problem.”

That’s why Senzai’s technology focuses on three tools. Identify customers who are more likely to respond to specific sales and marketing campaigns and improve results by measuring, experimenting, and optimizing for effectiveness.

Senzai is in its early stages. It launched within the past month, initially working with telecom companies and banks. According to Lopez-Portillo, the company makes money on a performance-based fee, charging customers a percentage of the value created.

As we gear up for our official launch at the end of the year, this year we raised $2 million in a pre-seed round and launched three clients. ALLVP led the round.

ALLVP Managing Partner Jimena Pardo said in a written statement: “The new breed of LLM (Large Language Model) is clearly very powerful and has already spawned a new wave of AI tools, but we will have to wait and see what value it ultimately brings. By focusing on results rather than results, Senzai stands out here and is perfectly positioned to leverage all this innovation (rather than competing) to deliver real value.”

Meanwhile, Senzai is developing an MVP with its first few clients, deploying new funding to scale its product and gain market fit for its product.

“Now it’s just a matter of implementing general ideas like we had with Affinity,” Lopez-Portillo said. “We’ve already talked to many of these clients, so the idea is to get off the ground incredibly quickly.”
