July 15 (THEWILL) – The Barau I Jibrin Foundation (BIJF), founded by the Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate, Mr. Barau Jibrin, has opened applications for postgraduate scholarships for international students in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Forensic Science and Robotics Science.

The Executive Secretary of the BIJF Scholarship Committee, established to provide humanitarian, educational and empowerment services across the country, Dr. Mikedy Lawan, said the three fields were selected to provide specialised skills to Nigerians.

He said the scholarship scheme was designed to promote academic excellence and support talented individuals in Kano North Senatorial District.

As part of its efforts to contribute to the technological advancement of the country, the Foundation has limited its scholarship programme to three fields, which include M.Tech. (Information Security and Cyber ​​Forensics), M.Tech. (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) and M.Tech. (Robotics).

Assistant Minister for Media Ismail Mudassir said in a statement: “We are offering postgraduate scholarships in these three specialisations to raise standards and equip our youth with the requisite skills. Upon graduation, the recipients will become specialists and experts in these fields and contribute to the technological advancement of our country.”

Mudashiru, who disclosed that the deadline for submission of applications is July 30, 2024, said Senator Jibrin made the pledge when he received the leadership of the Students Union Government (SUG) of Bayero University Kano (BUK) at the National Assembly.
