Principals and representatives of prominent schools from Ludhiana and other districts attended the annual principals’ conference organized by Tribune Newspapers in association with Chitkara University on Wednesday. This year’s theme is “Education in the Age of AI.” More than 50 school principals and representatives attended the session.
Participants showed strong interest in discussions centered around artificial intelligence and discussed the scope of artificial intelligence in the education system. Several principals also highlighted the AI-driven technologies currently being implemented in their schools.
The keynote address was delivered by Aadi Garg, a motivational speaker and career counselor who has been working in the education field for several years. Mr. Garg has been guiding the students in their academic journey and familiarized the gathering with various AI tools and applications that can enhance both academic and administrative efficiency.
The session began with greetings, followed by the ceremonial lighting of lamps.
In his speech, Garg emphasized that AI has already become an integral part of the education system and it is up to schools to effectively integrate this technology. He pointed out that AI is not limited to platforms such as ChatGPT, but can also play an important role in data analysis, information processing, and decision-making, depending on how it is utilized. He encouraged principals to consider AI-based tools, citing examples of schools that have seen enrollment increase after implementing them.
During the interactive session, principals asked pointed questions and speakers answered them, making the discussion engaging and insightful. Participants also shared their experiences and perspectives on the growing influence of AI across sectors such as healthcare, education, law and business services, highlighting India’s leading position in digital transformation.
Mahinder Singh, principal of Nankana Sahib School in Samralla, said the school has used AI to digitize report cards, allowing parents to seamlessly access and interact with the school through technology. Paramvir Singh of Ludhiana’s Malwa High School said the school has upgraded its infrastructure by installing smart panels and ensuring proper training for teachers and students. He added that parents are also being guided during parent-teacher meetings about how the school is implementing technology and how they can respond to questions raised by the school.
The principals’ meeting ended with a highly interactive and informative session that provided valuable insights into the positive and challenging aspects of AI in education.
