Saudi Arabia advances sovereign AI ambitions with new deal

Magna AI has announced a new partnership with Emaar Executive Company (EEC) as part of its continued efforts to advance Saudi Arabia’s sovereign AI vision.

Magna AI is a byproduct of a partnership between Trend Micro and Wistron Digital, and its technology is powered by NVIDIA.

EEC is an expert in data center construction, engineering, and procurement.

The agreement is essentially designed to support the planning, development and delivery of sovereign AI data centres, AI factory infrastructure, secure AI platforms and large-scale AI transformation programs across Saudi Arabia, with the potential to expand to the broader MENA market.

The framework was formally formulated by Dr. Moataz BinAli, CEO of Magna AI, and Mr. Karthik Ramaswamy, CEO of Emaar Executive Company, at the Global AI Show in Riyadh.

As Saudi Arabia continues to advance its national digital transformation plan, the need for reliable AI infrastructure is becoming increasingly central to the kingdom’s long-term competitiveness.

Sovereign AI data centers and AI factories are expected to play a key role in enabling organizations to train, fine-tune, deploy, and operate advanced AI models while maintaining control over their data, workloads, governance, and compliance.

“A sovereign AI is only as strong as its underlying infrastructure, and that infrastructure must be built and operated to the highest engineering standards within the Kingdom,” said Dr. Moatas Bin-Ali, Chief Executive Officer of Magna AI.

“Emaar Executive Company brings proven construction and engineering disciplines that can transform your AI ambitions into operational data centers on the ground. Together, we can deliver an AI infrastructure that Saudi government and business organizations can own, manage, and scale with confidence.”

“Building a nation-wide AI infrastructure requires engineering discipline, local capabilities and reliable delivery,” said Karthik Ramaswamy, CEO, Emaar Executive Company.

“By combining our EPC system integration strengths with Magna’s AI Factory expertise, we are positioned to build and operate the data center infrastructure that supports the Kingdom’s AI challenges to the standards demanded by national and corporate institutions. Together, we aim to help our customers translate their AI ambitions into deployable infrastructure and measurable outcomes.”
