Back in February, Samsung Mobile head TM Roh teased that more Galaxy AI features were coming to compatible Galaxy devices, and now these new Galaxy We're getting a better idea of what one of the AI features will be like.
According to Samsung serial leaker ice universe, “One UI 6.1.1's key innovation will be video AI.” One UI 6.1.1 refers to Samsung's next major software update. While Ice Universe doesn't elaborate on what “video AI” means, it's entirely possible that the term refers to any of the video editing tools that leverage generative AI. , or some form of AI-powered video capture assistance.
Ice Universe's claims come just hours after Samsung's official X account once again confirmed that new features for Galaxy AI are in development: “Collaboration with Google continues.” […] “Exciting things are happening for the AI-powered future of Android and Galaxy experiences,” the company writes in a new article. post.
We continue to work with @Google towards our shared vision of delivering the best Android ecosystem of products and services. Exciting things are brewing for the future of AI-powered Android and Galaxy experiences. https://t.co/QNvFEiSq9uApril 25, 2024
Samsung's Galaxy AI feature suite currently includes Generative Edit, which lets you resize, delete, and reposition objects in images, and AI-powered frame generation, which turns almost any regular video into slow motion. Includes instant slow motion. -Motion video. Will this mysterious “video AI” feature build on these creative tools by allowing you to retroactively edit a video's composition? Or will Samsung build on it like OpenAI's Sora? We may be preparing to roll out a full-fledged text-to-video conversion generator.

We won't know for sure until Samsung confirms the details, but the company could use the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event to show off this rumored One UI 6.1.1 feature. (as it was announced at Samsung's previous Galaxy Unpacked event in March). According to the latest leaks, the next Galaxy Unpacked event is scheduled to take place on July 10th, so we hope we won't have to wait too long.
In any case, Samsung's claim that new Galaxy AI features are in development will be a welcome addition to the lifespan of a new phone for Samsung Galaxy S24 owners. Samsung is working on 7 generations of OS updates and 7 years of security updates for all phones in the Galaxy S24 series, but only if these phones are simply maintained. I'm excited to hear that it will continue to improve.
Perhaps this mysterious “video AI” feature will also make its way to some previous generation Galaxy smartphones. The Samsung Galaxy S23 smartphones came with all Galaxy AI features two months after debuting with the Galaxy S24 line, so we believe the same will be true for the new Galaxy AI features.
