Samsung Electronics is in consultation with Openai and Perplexity AI and looking for a wider range of products beyond Google's Gemini, as it integrates more AI services with upcoming Galaxy Devices.
South Korea's biggest company is aiming to offer more options to its customers with its Galaxy S26 smartphone line next year, according to Chun Jun, president and chief operating officer of mobile.
Samsung's current lineup features Alphabet's AI model, as well as many of the remaining fields on Android devices.
“We're talking to multiple vendors,” Choi, 54, said in an interview at Suwon's Samsung headquarters. “As long as these AI agents are competitive and can provide the best user experience, we are open to every AI agent out there.”
Samsung is investing in the baffling situation and is approaching a deal to integrate its app with its assistant, Bloomberg News reported in June.
Like Archrival Apple, Galaxy phone makers are trying to bolster their own efforts in artificial intelligence using the best available from external providers.

Beyond AI, the Mobile-to-Chips conglomerate is evaluating the new application processor of the Galaxy S26 and is considering both the Qualcomm Inc. product and its in-house Exynos 2600.
With the recently released Galaxy Z Flip 7, Samsung used the Exynos chipset in a foldable format for the first time. The company is trying to reduce its reliance on Qualcomm and raise questions about the efficiency and thermal performance of the Exinos Line.
Apple plans to introduce its first foldable iPhone next year. It will be built around a similar design to Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold line and will use many of the same core components, including a foldable OLED screen supplied by Samsung displays.
“This is just the beginning to make these phones mainstream,” Choi said of Samsung's latest generation introduced this summer. Another global company in the category is beneficial to the industry, he added. Bloomberg
