He also teased Openai's ambition to turn the GPT-5 into a powerful revenue driver, explaining his plans to sell the tools to businesses to increase productivity and efficiency.

“The increased efficiency, the value offered is so valuable, I think we can build a huge business here and we're excited to continue doing that.”

Altman pointed out that it is most likely software engineering, finance, healthcare, and data entry. He cited early feedback from software developers using the GPT-5, saying, “I hear people say they're twice as productive and five times as productive. [are] Huge and huge numbers. ”
While Altman is optimistic about AI's long-term job creation potential, he admitted that there is likely short-term disruption in the market. Some industries may reduce staffing as tasks become more automated, he said, but he believes that in the end, new roles will emerge. Specifically, it doesn't exist yet.
“There was nothing completely new. They couldn't even think before AI,” Altman said. “And these booms will appear in these brand new jobs categories.”
