Saab has signed a memorandum of understanding with Canadian artificial intelligence company Kohia to collaborate on advanced AI technology, the Swedish defense company said. The contract focuses on supporting the GlobalEye aircraft early warning and control system and enhancing future aerospace capabilities.
The partnership will establish a framework for exploring the use of AI in areas such as mission support, maintenance tools and information processing. These technologies are intended to be integrated into secure, complex aerospace environments through on-premises solutions.
Saab said this partnership is directly tied to GlobalEye’s potential opportunities in Canada. He added that developments from this partnership could also benefit existing and future international GlobalEye operators.
Both companies have identified initial pilot projects to evaluate practical paths towards cooperation. These efforts are consistent with the current requirements of the program and are expected to aid in its further development.

Kohia said the partnership will focus on applying advanced AI models to aerospace challenges. The company highlighted the role of scalable and secure AI systems in improving operational performance.

Cohere, which develops enterprise AI models and platforms, is headquartered in Toronto and San Francisco with operations around the world. The company focuses on secure and scalable AI solutions for business and industrial applications.
