South Australian AI-powered email marketing platform Nitrosend officially launched to the public today, with its founders claiming it will save businesses time and money.

and launched with US$500,000 (AU$701,000) in seed funding courtesy of Eastend Ventures, South Australia’s first early stage venture capital limited partnership.

Nitrosend was created by brothers Edward and George Hartley, who previously founded SmartrMail, another email marketing platform that was sold to Relay Commerce in 2022 for an undisclosed amount. They were also the founders of the online art market BlueThumb.

“This is not their first rodeo,” said Josh Garratt, founding partner of Eastend Ventures.

“They’ve built and sold successful email marketing businesses before, and now they’re back to do it again for the world of AI.

“Experienced founders are chasing markets they already understand better than anyone else, at the very moment they are being reshaped by AI. EastEnd was created to make those investments.”

Nitrosend was built for small and medium-sized businesses operating online. This platform was intended to replace traditional email builders. Instead of dragging and dropping blocks on the editor, business owners describe what they want their email campaign to do.

The platform then creates it, designs it, submits it, and reports back on what worked.

“There is a huge gap in the AI ​​segment for transactional email and marketing email,” says Edwards.

“Companies I have helped often spend 45 minutes to an hour creating and editing an email, which can be a significant amount of time, especially if the company has a large email list and wants to send it two or three times a week.

“Creating a prompt allows you to create extremely well-written, beautifully designed emails in less than 5 minutes.”

The product was officially released today, but has been in beta mode since April. Approximately 190 users have joined so far, and the amount of emails generated has doubled every week since then.

Edwards said Eastend Ventures’ funding will give the company some early-stage runway.

“We’re bringing engineers on board, continuing to develop the product, investing in several growth channels, and launching and scaling it very strongly and quickly,” he said.

“We’ve seen how similar players who aren’t necessarily in the AI ​​space can scale email. If you reduce the friction, they can do it quickly without the kind of AI we’ve built.”

“We think Nitrosend has the potential to be huge. From here, it’s really about continuing to develop the product, continue to distribute it, and maintain the awareness so that people know about it.”
