Russian propagandists have stepped up their use of artificial intelligence to create fake videos purportedly depicting “raising of the Russian flag” in various front-line areas. Such special activity of the information plant was observed on the eve of May 9th. This was reported by NSDC’s Counter Disinformation Center (CCD). Yeah.

Note that while the previous Russian occupiers primarily distributed short, isolated videos, they have now moved to more complex AI editing. In particular, propagandists have produced a series of videos in which Russian tricolor flags are allegedly hoisted over AFU positions.
According to the CCD, infiltration tactics are also being used. This is a short-lived attack by a small group of subversives who plant their flag and quickly leave their positions. Artificially generated elements are then added to the captured footage to create the impression of a large-scale attack.
Russia continues to impose its cult of “great victory” on countries in the Global South, ignoring local historical context – CCD10.05.26, 05:25 • 4150 views
The center stresses that these videos distort the situation and create the illusion of a “frontline collapse” that does not correspond to the reality of the situation.
Analysts believe that the increase in the number of such information plants on the eve of “Victory Day” indicates an attempt by Russia’s military-political leadership to compensate for the lack of significant military achievements in real life and demonstrate “success” in virtual space.
It has also been pointed out that there have been previously documented cases of distributing similar fakes, including one related to the alleged defection of Ukrainian military personnel to the Russian side. Upon examination, it was determined that the videos were either completely generated or taken out of context, and the actual footage was from other locations and time periods.
