Mukesh Ambani, chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries, announced on Friday the launch of Reliance Intelligence, which houses India's next-generation AI infrastructure.
The RIL chair said Reliance Intelligence will build a Gigawatt scale AI-Reaid data center. The company is already working on building a data centre in Jamunagar, Gujarat.
He said Reliance Intelligence is conceived with four distinct missions: house India's next-generation AI infrastructure, house global partnerships, build AI services for India and develop AI talent.
“It is my great joy and privilege to announce the formation of a new wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance, called Reliance Intelligence. This new company is devised with four distinct missions: first, to house India's next-generation AI infrastructure.”

“Work has already begun at Jamunagar's Gigawatt-scale AI-enabled data centers. These facilities will be delivered in stages to meet the growing needs of custom-made India for AI training and reasoning,” he added.
He said Reliance Intelligence provides reliable, easy-to-use AI services for consumers, small businesses and businesses. He further said that nationally important sectors such as education, healthcare and agriculture will also benefit from the services. It is scaled and reliable and affordable for all Indians, he added.
Speaking at the event, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said Meta and Reliance will support development by providing open source AI models to Indian companies.
