Los Angeles, April 23 (IANS) Hollywood actress Reese Witherspoon has responded to the backlash she received after sharing her latest video on social media.
The actress came under fire on Instagram after she shared a video in which she appeared to speak in support of AI. Following backlash for her comments about AI, she now insists she is “just a curious person”.
She took to her Instagram Stories section and wrote, “Well, I think my Al post got people talking. Just to be clear, no one is paying me to talk about this.” I’m just a curious person. My kids are learning about Al tools. I know a lot of founders who use Vibecoding, and I’ve heard of people using Al in all areas of their business. However, I would like to acknowledge that people’s concerns are valid. I recognize that this could impact employment in so many industries. I understand environmental issues. I care deeply about my community. And I have concerns about impending AGI. ”
“I don’t think computers should replace humans. I’m going to learn as much as I can to learn about this technological revolution. If you want to learn with me, great, let’s do it together! If not, that’s okay too,” she added.
She took a positive stance on AI education in her original video, pointing out how technology is enveloping our daily lives.
“I think it’s time to learn about AI,” she said in the video. “I was at a book club yesterday with about 10 women and I asked them, ‘How many of you are using AI?’ And only three of them were using AI. And I said, ‘How many of you feel like you really know what you’re doing or are using it the right way?’ And there was only one. I mean, three of the 10 women.” The fact that they are the only ones using AI means that 70% of that group is not keeping up. ”
“What I’ve learned about technology is that if you don’t understand it a little bit from the beginning, it goes by very quickly. So you have to learn it bit by bit to catch up.
