Chinese brand SenseTime has released a consumer Go robot in Shanghai, bringing the AlaphGo versus human player experience to the average household.
With its box-sized, sci-fi design, SenseRobot Go lets you practice and play Go on a physical Go board using artificial intelligence and a robotic arm.
Prices start at RMB 3,799 (US$535) and consist of over 2,000 specialized exercises across 7 levels covering beginner to 5th Dan amateur.
It can continuously improve the Go skills of most fans, especially children.
“The world of Go has entered a new era characterized by the Internet, big data and AI,” said Lin Jianchao, president of the Chinese Go Association.
“SenseRobot Go marks an important milestone in bringing Go intelligence into the home.”

SenseRobot Go allows users to practice and play Go on an actual Go board.
Back in 2017, AlphaGo beat Ke Jie, then the world No. 1 ranked 9th Dan, in a match of 3 in Wuzhen, Zhejiang. AlphaGo was subsequently awarded the Professional 9th Dan by the Chinese Go Association.
AlaphGo’s victory has brought widespread attention to AI capabilities and development.
SenseTime CEO Xu Li wants to redefine the future of domestic robots with AI and traditional culture.
The company announced its SenseRobot family for the consumer market, including the new SenseRobot Go and the chess SenseRobot released last year.
The AI-powered Go robot will be unveiled at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference in Shanghai next month.
