Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], April 19 (ANI): Superstar Aamir Khan has flagged a deepfake video of himself purporting to be election propaganda of a particular political party. Actor Ranveer Singh has become the latest victim of a menace sweeping the industry.
A video of the 'Padmaavat' fame actor recently surfaced online in which he is purportedly heard expressing his political views.
However, it turned out that the video was created using artificial intelligence voice clones of the actors.
While the video of the actor's recent visit to Varanasi looks authentic, the audio is from an AI-powered voice clone of Ranveer.
The actor, who is married to Bollywood beauty Deepika Padukone, recently turned heads at an open-air fashion show along the Ganges River in Varanasi, along with Kriti Sanon, another prominent face of the industry. The show was curated by top couturier Manish Malhotra.
During his visit to this ancient city, which happens to be one of the oldest pilgrimage sites in the world, Ranveer appreciated the changes brought about by overhauling public infrastructure, while also calling the city a “sacred” experience. Shared.
Ranveer posted a post on his Instagram story on Friday that read, “I love you.deepfake se bacho doston (Watch out for deepfakes, everyone).
The post, which is currently circulating on social media, does not contain anything, but was clearly in response to his deepfake video.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Ranveer will be seen playing the role of Simmba in Rohit Shetty's crime drama Singham Again, which also stars Deepika Padukone, actors Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff and Kareena Kapoor Khan. is scheduled to be performed again.
Ranveer will also headline Farhan Akhtar's 'Don 3'. Don 3'' is scheduled to arrive in 2025.
While announcing the film, director Farhan asked the audience to shower Ranveer with the same love they have shown in the previous Don series.
“In 1978, the character created by Salim Javed and played with effortless elan by Amitabh Bachchan captured the imagination of theatergoers across the country. That enigmatic character was Don. In 2006, Don “Reimagined and brought to life by Rukh Khan in his own irresistible way,” he wrote.
“The time has come to further carry Don’s legacy forward, and the talented and versatile actor I have long admired will be joining this new interpretation. I hope you will show him the love you have so generously shown him. Mr. Bachchan and Mr. Shah Rukh Khan,” the post further reads. (Ani)
