PTC Introduces PTC Orbit, an AI-Powered Maintenance Intelligence System for Manufacturers

AI News

  • Achieve a complete system of record for your asset data, connecting and contextualizing information from various enterprise systems such as PLM, ERP, CRM, IoT, EAM, and FSM systems into a single, unified asset view.
  • Built AI-first to uncover failure patterns, fleet-level insights, and quality signals that are currently inaccessible to engineering and quality teams
  • Empower users to explore asset data, investigate issues, and drive actions that support reliability and revenue-focused campaigns.

boston, June 11, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — PTC (NASDAQ: PTC) today announced the PTC Orbit™ cloud-native asset intelligence solution, bridging the gap between as-designed products and maintained assets. By connecting PLM, ERP, CRM, IoT, EAM, and FSM systems into a single unified asset record, PTC Orbit applies AI to enable access, exploration, and action on asset information across engineering, quality, and service teams, extending the value of an intelligent product lifecycle.

Manufacturers are investing heavily in managing the product lifecycle from design to manufacturing, with all revisions, configurations, and change requests tracked in PLM. However, once the product is shipped, structured visibility ends and the maintained state of each asset becomes fragmented across disconnected systems. PTC Orbit bridges this gap by acting as a maintained intelligence system, allowing all teams to work from the same accurate, current view of assets, facilitating closed-loop product reliability, proactive service readiness, and support for aftermarket revenue programs.

“Asset data fragmentation is one of the most persistent barriers to operational efficiency in manufacturing,” said Eric Case, Field Service Management Lead at Deloitte. “Products like PTC Orbit give organizations the opportunity to deepen their capabilities and move from reactive decision-making to more scalable, insight-driven operations.”

“With more than 25% of our sewer level monitoring equipment offline at any given time, we needed a single, consistent view of network health and risk across our operations,” said Andrew Oliver, Head of Operations Technology Platforms at Southern Water. “PTC Orbit gives us the ability and ability to prioritize high-risk areas, optimize field activities, and make more informed large-scale investment decisions.”

PTC Orbit supports three main features:

  • Asset data integration: Connect and reconcile asset data from PLM, ERP, CRM, IoT, EAM, FSM, and other enterprise systems to create a unified, uninterrupted view of each asset and close visibility gaps that arise when products ship.
  • AI-powered lifecycle intelligence: Apply AI to detect service patterns and failure trends, calculate asset health scores, and predict service and maintenance demand by asset group, account, or region.
  • A.I.Assisted access and interaction: Enabling teams across the enterprise to interact with asset data through an AI canvas, dynamically uncovering insights based on user context and delivering relevant information on demand beyond static dashboards.

Joseph June, general manager of SLM and AI strategy at PTC, said: “Asset data has always existed everywhere, but there was no real place to use it.” “With PTC Orbit, we built a new AI-first solution from the ground up that is a system of record for asset intelligence. With this new solution, we are moving asset data from being managed reactively by teams to being proactively available throughout the product lifecycle.”

PTC Orbit was unveiled at the PTC NEXT Chicago event on June 9th and 10th at Swissôtel Chicago. The PTC NEXT On-Demand Experience Hub is now live, with new content added regularly, and all customers and partners, whether present or not, have access to content and more shared during the event. PTC is realizing its vision of an intelligent product lifecycle with PTC Orbit and the rest of its portfolio. This enables manufacturers and product companies to build a product data foundation, extend the value of that data across the enterprise, and accelerate AI-driven transformation. Extensive use of product data enables companies to bring high-quality products to market faster, better manage product complexity, and meet regulatory and compliance standards.
