- Address duplicate parts, slow or inaccurate searches, and inconsistent part data by improving part searchability and identifying duplication across your enterprise data.
- Improve consistency of part data, reduce rework for your team, and reduce inventory and transportation costs.
- Incorporating AI into Windchill supports PTC’s Intelligent Product Lifecycle Vision and helps companies bring quality products to market faster.
boston, January 27, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — PTC (NASDAQ: PTC) today announced the release of Windchill AI Parts Rationalization, a new artificial intelligence (AI) capability built into the Windchill® Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solution. This new capability brings AI directly into parts management workflows, helping manufacturers address long-standing challenges such as duplicate parts, slow or inaccurate part searches, and inconsistent part data. These issues lead to higher costs and slower development cycles.

Windchill AI Parts Rationalization discovers similar parts to prevent duplication, identifies redundant parts that already exist in enterprise systems, and drives integration through change workflows. This capability is deployed as a plug-in, allowing customers to deploy new AI capabilities and innovate quickly with minimal disruption to operations. Together, these enhancements can reduce inventory and transportation costs, speed up engineering work, improve data quality, and support more confident collaboration and decision-making across teams.
“Accurate part data capture is a cornerstone of modern product development, but as product lines grow, systems proliferate, and organizations become more complex, it becomes increasingly difficult to maintain,” said John Haller, general manager of Windchill at PTC. “We designed our AI Parts Rationalization capabilities to help our customers eliminate that complexity, so they can spend less time managing duplicate parts and cleaning up data and more time focusing on building better products.”
PTC continues to advance Windchill AI with features designed to deepen automation and improve decision-making across classification and reuse workflows. Future planned enhancements include support for smart-assisted classification, part reuse in the design environment, schema guidance, and tools for monitoring duplication and comparing material and cost properties.
Windchill, along with the rest of PTC’s portfolio, supports the company’s vision for an intelligent product lifecycle. This enables manufacturers and product companies to build a product data foundation in engineering, extend the value of that data across the enterprise, and power AI-driven transformation. Windchill works with other AI solutions and capabilities, including PTC’s Creo® AI, Codebeamer® AI, ServiceMax® AI, Onshape® AI, and Arena® AI, to help organizations confidently scale AI-driven transformation.
