Amazon Prime Video has removed an AI overview video created using a generative AI model after it spoiled a catch-up of Season 1 of “Fallout,” one of its most famous reruns.

According to a report from Gizmodo, Amazon Prime Video has removed the “Bonus: Fallout Season 1 Recap” video that was made available to users in anticipation of the release of Season 2.
The removal comes in the wake of a recent fiasco that caused an uproar online after many fans discovered various inaccuracies in the AI-generated compilation video Amazon developed for the show.
Fans looking forward to the Fallout season premiere next week are already brushing up on what happened in season 1 with Amazon Prime Video's generated AI recaps.
But instead of getting an accurate summary of last season's events, Amazon AI provided inaccurate details that were far removed from what actually happened on the show.
Amazon appears to have failed to check AI-generated compilation videos before uploading them to its platform.

Before the removal, Gamesradar+ first reported on the error found in the “Fallout” Season 1 catch-up.
Other fans took to Reddit to air their frustrations, sharing photos taken from the AI video summaries themselves. Amazon Prime Video uses the same scenes and clips as season 1, but uses AI to narrate the experience.
The subtitles in the voiceover clearly show that the AI is saying that certain flashbacks are from the 1950s, but the show is set in 2077.
Last year, Amazon released X-Ray Recaps, powered by the e-commerce giant's generative AI models, to give users a real-time catch-up experience that describes the show's highlights and best moments up until the user pauses the episode.
Separately, Amazon has also uploaded an AI-powered summary of the season that looks back at its best moments.
However, this new issue completely ruined the experience for many fans who were hoping to catch up on post-season 1 events, as it's been almost a year since the series originally ended.
This has led many to call Amazon's AI “garbage” due to its inability to create accurate storytelling about the show's best moments, especially when they have access to these titles.
Some blame Amazon for this “AI lag” as the company is said to have many AI models in place, but they are not up to par.
