Pkl Police gets AI training and latest tools

PANCHKULA: As part of a larger drive towards technology-driven policing, Panchkula police will soon be trained in artificial intelligence (AI) applications, advanced police software and latest technological tools to enhance crime prevention and investigation.The decision was taken during a four-hour criminal review meeting held at the district secretariat Sector 1 under the chairmanship of DCP Panchkula Srishti Gupta on Friday night. All ACPs, SHOs and police station heads in the district attended the meeting which focused on crime investigation, cold cases, crimes against women, technical empowerment and public communication.DCP Gupta said a special laboratory has been identified for the training program and a comprehensive plan is being prepared. “Police personnel will be trained in AI-based apps, new software and modern tools to improve efficiency and quality of investigations,” he said.The DCP directed police officers to take strict and aggressive action against theft, snatching and robbery and warned that no laxity will be tolerated. She also reviewed pending cases and emphasized faster and higher quality investigations to ensure timely justice for victims.citizen feedback and accountabilityMr. Gupta highlighted the 'Mera Thana, Meri Zhimmedari' initiative and urged police officers to treat their jurisdictions like family and respond quickly to crimes. He also pointed out that in the final phase in 2025, QR codes will be installed at all police stations, stations, posts and transport points, allowing citizens to share feedback on the quality of services and police actions. “People are actively reviewing services and there is more transparency and accountability in policing,” she said.
