In the recent AI debate, some artists have expressed concerns about robotic tools. Conversely, other artists like former Genesis member Peter Gabriel have openly embraced the technology with open arms. AI is currently in its early stages led by programs such as ChatGPT, but is expected to permeate many aspects of our lives over the next few years.
Last month, Gabriel called AI a “powerful new tool” to adopt instead of “just complaining or pretending it doesn’t exist.” announced and launched the DiffuseTogether Challenge from there.
Participants are welcome to submit one AI-generated animated video inspired and set to Gabriel’s music. The video uses Stable Diffusion from Stability AI, a leading open source imaging model suite, and applications such as DreamStudio (photorealistic imaging), Stability for Blender (3D), and AnimAI (animation). The contest is currently running on Discord.

Participants can use Gabriel’s music. This includes his classic oldies as well as multiple songs from his upcoming album I/O. The winner will be announced on his Friday, May 5th, with Gabriel appearing on the jury.
