Perk launches MCP for AI connectivity

Travel and spend management platform Perk (formerly TravelPerk) has launched the MCP (Model Context Protocol) connector. According to the announcement, the company is the first platform to offer travel, spending, billing and events through a single AI integration.

MCP is an open standard that allows AI assistants to connect directly to workplace software. Perk MCP announced that finance teams, travel managers, and employees will be able to link Perk to Claude, ChatGPT, and other MCP-compatible assistants and access data through natural language.

According to the announcement, Perk customers are clear about what they want from AI. It’s about less manual administration, faster answers, and the ability to manage travel and spending without switching tools.

According to the announcement, Perk is the first travel and spending platform that gives finance teams access to travel invoices, including line item breakdowns and on-demand PDF downloads, via MCP. You can ask, “Which invoices from Q2 are unpaid?” Or, “Show me all the flight items for my Boston cost center” and get a structured answer in seconds.

According to the announcement, Perk’s MCP is also the first product in its category to provide event managers with AI access to a complete event program. With Perk Events integrated through MCP, teams can now directly query upcoming sessions, locations, participant details, and RSVP status.

According to the announcement, MCP will enable Perk users to get daily travel answers and tasks from within the AI ​​tools they already use. Travelers can check their travel status, reservations, pending spend, and card transactions. Finance teams can search for expenses, download structured spend reports, and see corporate card spending across the organization. Travel managers can monitor pending approvals, query travel policy rules, and audit users by role, cost center, or approval process to quickly close configuration gaps.

Nikita Miller, Chief Product Officer, said, “Every team in the enterprise works with travel and spend data, but most are still digging through reports and switching platforms looking for easy answers. That’s the shadow work that this MCP connector takes away, bringing teams together within the tools they already use.”

The Perk MCP connector is currently live and more features will be available to Perk customers. This summer, Perk will expand its functionality to enable travel bookings, expense submissions, receipt uploads, event arrangements, travel changes, and approval flows, according to the announcement.
