The AI capabilities of Oracle APEX enable non-SQL users to perform vector searches in under 2 minutes.
Austin, Texas, June 17, 2024 Canada, March 18, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — Oracle today announced new AI innovations in the latest release of its Oracle APEX low-code development platform. The new APEX AI Assistant simplifies application development and helps developers quickly build feature-rich, mission-critical applications at scale. Developers can now specify the features and components they need using natural language prompts, automatically generate SQL statements to create their applications, perform one-click debug fixes, eliminate the need to remember table names, and easily add an out-of-the-box conversational interface to their applications. Oracle APEX is a no-cost feature that is fully supported on all Oracle Database services, including Oracle Database and Oracle Autonomous Database, and developers can try it for free here.
Oracle APEX's declarative development approach replaces traditional complex coding, enabling developers to build and deploy mission-critical enterprise applications 20x faster and with 100x less code. With over 21 million applications built, Oracle APEX is the platform of choice for over 850,000 developers at organizations across industries worldwide.
“As a developer and someone who writes SQL every day, I know how difficult it can be to remember table names, column names, and syntax that you don't use often. Having an AI assistant that can determine column names in context, make joins, and generate complex syntax would be a real game changer,” he said. Mike Hichua“Best of all,” said the senior vice president of software development at Oracle, “is the ability to use easy-to-understand, natural language, such as, 'Show me all the large pink T-shirts left in our latest shipment.'” Kansas City and Wichita Just enter the location and the APEX AI Assistant will automate it and show you accurate results.”
Trailcon provides trailer fleet solutions managing over 30,000 assets 24/7. North AmericaUsing Oracle APEX and OCI Document Understanding, the company built its Trailcon 360 application, which provides customers with real-time analytics on geolocation, telematics, preventive maintenance, and other key metrics, as well as the ability to seamlessly download and consolidate invoices, replacing manual processes.
“We can process over 3,000 invoices each month with 87% accuracy. Oracle APEX and OCI enable Trailcon's IT solutions team to stay agile and continue to provide data services our customers can rely on,” he said. Giovanni Cani“This is much simpler than other low-code solutions, and we're excited to see what's coming in the next version of Oracle APEX, especially with regards to AI capabilities and process optimization,” said Mike SK, VP of IT Delivery at Trailcon.
“Natcorp provides human resource management solutions to over 600,000 users. Brazil“The combination of APEX and AI is a huge time saver for our customers. They can simply ask a question in the APEX app and get an answer within seconds.” Igor Sara Cardosohead of technology and innovation at Natcorp, said: “This will enable HR teams to focus on core competencies such as recruitment strategy whilst reducing operational costs through AI.”
Oracle APEX is included with all Oracle Database services, including Oracle Database and Oracle Autonomous Database, to deliver exceptional application performance, industry-hardened security, availability, and scalability. For example, when used in conjunction with AI Vector Search in Oracle Database 23ai, developers can combine semantic search of documents, images, and other unstructured data with search of private business data.
“There's low-code, and there's low-code done right.” Ron Westfall“With the latest APEX 24.1 introduction, Oracle has successfully demonstrated how GenAI enables developers to easily create robust, mission-critical applications. Following a series of innovations and strategic announcements such as Oracle Database 23ai and Oracle Database@Google Cloud, APEX 24.1 continues to demonstrate Oracle's open, collaborative approach to cloud and application development,” said Mike E., Research Director at Futurum Group.
New AI enhancements for Oracle APEX include:
- APEX AI Assistant: Create valid SQL statements from natural language user prompts. The APEX AI Assistant remembers SQL syntax so developers don't have to remember it, automating the creation of SQL queries. Frees developers from mundane coding tasks by explaining existing code and suggesting code bug fixes that can be applied with a click.
- Creating an App Assistant: New application blueprints can be created from natural language user prompts that specify desired attributes and capabilities, simplifying the development of new applications and allowing developers to focus their energy and resources on creating their own custom application functionality rather than the underlying code.
- Conversational AI Dialogue: Developers can easily add an out-of-the-box conversational interface to their applications that allows end users to “talk” to the application in natural language, thereby enabling developers to deliver richer in-app experiences without having to build generative AI or natural language processing components from scratch.
The new version of Oracle APEX is available today and will be demonstrated at the APEX conference at ODTUG Kscope24. July 14th – 18 inches Nashville, Tennessee.
