Oracle adds AI agents across CRM and supply chain apps

Applications of AI

Oracle has added new AI agents to Fusion Cloud applications aimed at common tasks across marketing, sales, service, and supply chain operations.

Agents run within Oracle Fusion Cloud Customer Experience and Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Chain & Manufacturing. Oracle built these using Oracle AI Agent Studio for Fusion Applications. Agents are pre-built, available within Fusion Applications at no additional cost, and run on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

Oracle says the release is designed to embed automated assistance into daily workflows by helping agents analyze data, generate recommendations, and handle routine steps in processes such as campaign planning, quoting, field service scheduling, and procurement.

customer experience

With Oracle Fusion Cloud Customer Experience, Oracle introduced role-based agents for marketing, sales, and service teams. These include designing and executing campaigns, researching and updating accounts and contacts, and processing service requests.

For marketing teams, the new agent includes tools for planning and orchestration. Oracle has listed Program Planning Agents to plan, initiate, and optimize cross-sell and upsell programs, and Program Brief Agents and Program Orchestration Agents to help define goals, align teams, and translate plans into tactics and assets.

Oracle has also added targeting and analytics agents. Buying Group Agent segments your audience and makes targeting recommendations while identifying accounts that are likely to buy. Customer Insights agents analyze account data such as billing status, renewal timing, and service interactions. Audience analysis agents assess persona coverage, engagement levels, and purchase stages and recommend investment strategies and segmentation.

Two agents assist with creative and asset selection. Copywriting agencies draft copy for emails, landing pages, and web assets based on brand guidelines and marketing goals. Image Picker Agent recommends images from pre-approved assets based on tactical objectives and design criteria.

For sales, Oracle highlighted agents responsible for researching, quoting, updating, and reviewing territories. Contact Insights Agent displays information about the contacts in your account and their connections. The quote generation agent analyzes input such as emails, drawings, or specified requirements, selects the product model or configuration, and applies the correct pricing template.

Renewal agents monitor contract health and margin risk and provide alerts and recommendations. It also generates update summaries that include usage trends, profitability insights, product dependencies, and upsell recommendations. Oracle also added My Territory Agent, which summarizes changes across your account and flags risks, expansion opportunities, and performance anomalies.

The service team hires agents for field work and customer interaction. The First-Time Agent generates daily summaries for field technicians with the goal of improving first-time repair rates. Work Order Scheduling Agents coordinate customer availability, technician qualifications, and parts when scheduling work orders.

Customer self-service agents answer customer questions, create and track service issues, and escalate them to live agents when necessary. Oracle also introduced an attachment processing agent that extracts and summarizes data from attachments to support triage and resolution.

Chris Leone, Oracle’s executive vice president of application development, said customer experience agents can help move sales, marketing and service processes away from time-consuming manual tasks. He said, “Organizations are transforming time-consuming, reactive sales, marketing, and service processes into proactive, intelligent workflows that deliver superior customer experiences at scale and drive revenue growth.”

supply chain

Oracle also introduced AI agents for Fusion Cloud Supply Chain & Manufacturing across planning, procurement, manufacturing, maintenance, inventory, logistics, order management, and service parts.

For planning and procurement, Oracle has listed a planning cycle agent that retrieves, assigns, and updates tasks within the planning workspace. Planning Measure Expression Agent transforms business questions into planning calculations and highlights errors with recommended fixes. For product lifecycle management, component replacement agents identify components to be replaced, suggest alternatives, analyze impacts, and generate change orders.

Procurement teams also have access to autonomous procurement agents for low-value, high-volume purchases. Oracle said it has identified requirements that are subject to autonomous negotiations and is managing supplier invitations and notifications in accordance with company policy.

For manufacturing, maintenance, and inventory, Oracle has listed several agents. The Maintenance Work Order Cost Estimation Advisor agent estimates costs based on planned material, labor, and resource usage and displays consolidated data through a conversational interface. External processing shipping agents create and consolidate the shipping data for goods that is sent to suppliers and cover compliance steps within the process.

In a warehouse, inventory task management agents assign tasks after assessing operator availability, skills, zones, and priorities. Inventory Aging Advisor Agent can flag slow-moving inventory, assess storage costs, recommend actions such as returns or transfers, and take the action of your choice.

For logistics and order management, Oracle introduced Wave Research Advisor Agent, which analyzes batches of warehouse work, identifies issues and root causes, and provides recommendations. Task Management Assistant detects at-risk orders by identifying unscheduled ship dates and re-prioritizing tasks. Oracle also listed a Purchase Order to Sales Order Converter agent that extracts data from PDF purchase orders, creates and submits sales orders, summarizes exceptions, and learns from feedback.

Order management also includes a product configuration agent that interprets requirements in natural language and generates configurations for quotes and sales orders. The Service Parts Advisor agent uses knowledge base information and service history to identify and order parts.

“As supply chains become more complex and disruptions become more frequent, organizations need faster, automated ways to continue operations,” said Chris Leone, Oracle’s executive vice president of application development. “With new AI agents built into Oracle Fusion Applications, supply chain leaders can automate critical tasks, reduce manual errors, optimize resources, and proactively resolve issues to meet customer demands and improve operational resiliency.”

Oracle also said that customers and partners can build and manage their own AI agents using Oracle AI Agent Studio for Fusion Applications, which is a platform for building, testing, and deploying agent teams across organizations.
