Snowflake teams up with NVIDIA

In this collaboration, Snowflake has integrated Nvidia AI Enterprise software and embedded the NeMo Retriever microservice into Snowflake Cortex AI. This integration enables custom models to be seamlessly connected to a variety of business data, improving the delivery of accurate responses.

Additionally, Snowflake Arctic, an enterprise-grade large-scale language model (LLM), is now fully supported by Nvidia TensorRT-LLM software, ensuring highly optimized performance. Arctic is also now accessible as an Nvidia NIM inference microservice, making it available to a wider range of developers.

Snowflake CEO Sridhar Ramaswamy highlighted the transformative impact of combining NVIDIA's accelerated computing and software with Snowflake's advanced AI capabilities, describing it as a game-changer.

The collaboration aims to usher in a new era of AI, empowering customers of all skill levels and industries to easily and confidently develop custom AI applications.

Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of Nvidia, highlighted the importance of data in the AI revolution and said he believes the partnership with Snowflake will help businesses refine their own data and unlock its full potential through generative AI.

Integrating Nvidia AI into Cortex AI

Snowflake and Nvidia are working together to integrate Nvidia AI Enterprise software capabilities into Cortex AI, enabling business users to effectively build and leverage custom AI-powered applications.

The integration includes NeMo Retriever, which facilitates highly accurate information retrieval for enterprises within Cortex AI, and Nvidia Triton Inference Server, which enables seamless deployment and scalability of AI inference.

Additionally, Nvidia NIM inference microservices, part of Nvidia AI Enterprise, can now be launched directly in Snowflake as native apps powered by Snowpark Container Services, simplifying deployment of underlying models in Snowflake for added convenience for organizations.

Quantiphi, an AI-centric digital engineering company and an “elite” tier partner of Snowflake and Nvidia, is one of the AI service providers using Snowpark Container Services to build Snowflake-native apps.

These applications, such as baioniq and Dociphi, are tailored to specific business roles to accelerate industry-specific scenarios and daily operations. Developed using the Nvidia NeMo framework, these applications are accessible through the Snowflake Marketplace and can be seamlessly deployed by users within the Snowflake environment.
