NVIDIA announced that the Mozilla Firefox browser now officially supports “AI Super Resolution” technology for RTX video.
Mozilla Firefox users can now enjoy AI-enhanced videos thanks to official NVIDIA RTX video “AI Super Resolution” technology support
press release: In today's digital age, accessing high-quality video content online through your favorite media player or streaming service is non-negotiable. NVIDIA's RTX Video leverages AI to automatically enhance video content with the click of a button and seamlessly integrate it into your background without interruption.

Mozilla Firefox, now a popular open source web browser, is NVIDIA's newest partner. A.I.-Equipped with RTX video technology. Video streamed from NVIDIA GeForce RTX-powered PCs and RTX-powered workstations appears sharper and more detailed without the need for high-resolution sources.
Mozilla Firefox now supports RTX video super resolution and HDR in its latest stable version (v126). Users now have easier access to AI-enhanced online video upscaling, artifact removal, and HDR effects than ever before.
This week on AI Decoded, we explain how it all works, including the two components that make up RTX video.
- RTX video super resolution Upscale low-resolution videos for cleaner, sharper images. It works by analyzing low-resolution videos and using deep learning to predict what the high-resolution versions will look like. The algorithm then combines this predicted image with a traditional upscaled version to eliminate compression artifacts and sharpen the final output.
- RTX video HDR Analyzes SDR video content through an AI neural network and adds HDR10 information to improve visibility, detail, and vibrancy.
90% of online video is 1080p or lower and SDR, so enabling NVIDIA RTX video is the same as pressing the “remaster” button on most of the content you watch every day.
Enabling RTX video is easy.
- Update to the latest GeForce RTX Game Ready driver, NVIDIA Studio, or NVIDIA RTX Enterprise driver.
- [システム]>[ディスプレイ]>[HDR]Go to and make sure the Windows HDR feature is enabled.
- Open the NVIDIA Control Panel and[ビデオ画像設定の調整]>[RTX ビデオ拡張]Go to.
- Turn on “Super Resolution” and “High Dynamic Range”.
Firefox joins other Chromium-based browsers such as Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge in supporting RTX video. RTX video super resolution is also supported by popular video players such as VLC.
