Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang is back in the news after a recording of an all-hands meeting was leaked. Business Insider reported that a leaked recording revealed his frustration with a manager who allegedly asked employees to reduce the use of artificial intelligence in their work. At an all-hands meeting held the day after Nvidia’s earnings release, Huang completely rejected this idea and asked executives if they were sane. “My understanding is that Nvidia has executives who are directing their employees to reduce their use of AI,” Huang said. “Are you sane?” Huang also emphasized that he wants to automate any task that can be automated with AI. He argued that employees should take advantage of AI and not have to worry about losing their jobs in the process. “I promise you, there will be work to do,” he said, emphasizing his belief that AI should be incorporated into every aspect of Nvidia’s operations.
AI at the core of Nvidia’s work culture
According to the report, Huang also explained that Nvidia engineers are already using AI tools like Cursor to streamline coding. Additionally, he encouraged staff to continue experimenting with AI, even if it doesn’t work perfectly the first time. “Keep using it until it happens,” he urged, adding, “We have the power to do it, so employees should help improve the technology.” Huang’s comments reflect an industry-wide trend, as companies such as Microsoft and Meta have already begun evaluating employees based on their use of AI. Meanwhile, Google is also instructing its engineers to incorporate AI into coding tasks, and Amazon’s tools are also starting to adopt Cursors in response to employee requests.
Peace of mind in the face of fear of being fired
Huang also reassured Nvidia employees that the company will continue to expand, despite widespread concerns that the introduction of AI could lead to job losses. He also noted that NVIDIA hired thousands of people last quarter and joked that office parking was tight due to the surge. The company’s workforce has grown from 29,600 in 2024 to 36,000 in 2025, and Huang said Nvidia is “probably still about 10,000 people short.”He explained that hiring will continue at a pace commensurate with the company’s ability to effectively integrate new employees.
Expansion and market growth
Nvidia’s rapid growth has been matched by physical expansion, with new offices opening in Taipei and Shanghai, and two more locations under construction in the United States. Nvidia recently reported quarterly revenue of $57.01 billion. This was an increase of 62% compared to the same period last year. This revenue increase further solidifies Nvidia’s position as the world’s most valuable company with a market capitalization of more than $4 trillion. While some investors, including Michael Burry of “The Big Short” fame, have voiced skepticism about the sustainability of the AI boom, Nvidia has pushed back, telling analysts that its strategy remains firmly rooted in accelerating AI adoption.
