New Company Incantor AI started with what tech companies call “the first AI model that allows creators to attribution and IP rights tracking with all GEN AI-derived content created on the platform.”
Agency Verve advises startups when deploying content creation platforms and helps Incant “navigate the entertainment industry and advocate for creative communities and artists entering this new realm, exploring practical applications of technology, including content localization, rights management, and creative production workflows.”
The announcement of the launch of Incanto shortly after Disney and NBCUniversal, became the first Hollywood player to file a federal lawsuit against the Mid Journey on Tuesday, making it the first Hollywood player to take a shot across the bow of a generative AI company that claims to have stolen a copyrighted character.
Each incant says the company's “core technology exists separately from large-scale language models (LLMs) such as Openai's GPT, Google's Gemini, and DeepSeek. It relies on a vast dataset of content with IP infringement/malformed content – and also tracks the attribution of copyrighted material with unprecedented accuracy.”
“Our targeted clients range from large studios to independent producers to individual creators,” said Lauren Oliver, co-founder and CEO of Incanto. Variety. “They are people who own IPs and want to extend their IPs to new formats or media and generate new revenue from them. This is AI for creators and creatives. CantorAI allows creators and creatives to provide attributes to AI and engage with AI while protecting copyright.
Oliver is a bestselling author and veteran producer, best known for “Before I Fall and Panic,” and has adapted to major screen projects on Netflix and Amazon Studios. She is a co-founder of Google, a former AI architect with a PhD from MIT, and has built Incanto alongside CTO Solomon Itani, completed postdoctoral studies in Stanford and Berkeley, California, and has received over 75 patents.
“The goal of Incant wasn't to build another AI model. It was to design a system that could maintain human creativity and IP rights,” Itani said. “We believe that technology should serve creators and not replace them and abuse them.”
“Verve's role as an incall advisor reflects our belief that the future of AI must align with the interests of artists and rights holders,” Verve Partnership said. “We see Incanto as not only a technical innovator, but also a new standard bearer of ethics and accountability in the use of AI.”
