One of the world's leading entertainment services, Netflix offers machine learning scientists and machine learning engineers a new remote job opening. These roles are part of the Content & Media ML Foundation team and are intended to enhance content intelligence, personalization and advertising through machine learning.
The team is building basic ML solutions that employ the vast amount of Netflix media data, driving advances in understanding multimodal content. It also explores filmmaking and media intelligence generation AI to place Netflix at the forefront of AI-driven content creation and distribution.
Netflix is looking for pioneering innovations in multimodal representative learning for ML scientists. This role includes building cutting-edge ML models for visual, audio and text data, optimizing performance and scalability using Pytorch and Netflix ML infrastructure, interacting with the ML research community, and influencing strategic decision-making.
Meanwhile, the company is hiring ML engineers to develop a scalable ML pipeline powered by content intelligence. Main responsibilities include optimizing large-scale ML models for media understanding, speeding up experimentation and deployment for automating ML workflows, and improving observability and monitoring to ensure model reliability.
Netflix is looking for engineers with expertise in deep learning architecture, embedding methods, and distributed ML training. Candidates should have 5 years of industry experience, particularly in understanding NLP, audio and video.
Netflix and AI
In a revenue interview for the third quarter of 2024, Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos said, “AI needs to pass key tests. In fact, does that help make better shows and better films? He stressed that in order for AI to truly make an impact, it must contribute to the quality of storytelling, rather than simply reducing production costs.
Sarandos' statement reinforces Netflix's commitment to strengthening audience experience and industry standards through technology.
“Netflix is the perfect platform for premium stories as we are home to the best storytellers. We have a huge watcher with 600 million reach. We assume financial risk when creating content,” Sarandos said.
That's not all. Netflix is twice as fast as AI in games as well as movies and TV. The company is onboarding Mike Verdu as Vice President of Genai, gaming on Netflix.
