“We are proud that artificial intelligence is already at the heart of Reliance's transformation into a deep technology company,” says Mukesh Ambani.
Reliance CMD Mukesh Ambani is addressing shareholders at the company's 48th Annual Meeting (AGM) on Friday.
Mukesh Ambani, chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), announced on Friday a new owned subsidiary called “Reliance Intelligence” to boost the group's AI initiative. He also announced an artificial intelligence (AI) partnership between global tech giant Google and Meta.
“I am proud that artificial intelligence is already at the heart of Reliance's transformation into a deep technology company. It is my great joy and privilege to announce the formation of a new all-around subsidiary called Reliance Intelligence to bring more focus and speed to this agenda.”
What is Reliance Intelligence?
Ambani said the new company is being considered in four distinct missions.
First, it houses India's next-generation AI infrastructure. Reliance Intelligence builds a gigawatt-scale AI-enabled data center equipped with green energy and designed for training and reasoning nationwide. Work has already begun at Jamunagar's Gigawatt-scale AI-enabled data center. These facilities will be equipped with Reliance's new energy ecosystem and will be delivered at a stage tailored to the growing needs of custom-made India for AI training and reasoning.
Second, it houses global partnerships. Reliance Intelligence delivers the world's best high-tech companies and open source communities with performance leadership, resilient supply and first-time AI compliance, along with Reliance's deep domain expertise and execution capabilities.
Third, we will build AI services for India. Reliance Intelligence provides reliable and easy-to-use AI services for consumers, small businesses, businesses, and nationally important sectors such as education, healthcare and agriculture. The service is scale and reliable and affordable for all Indians.
Fourth, to accommodate AI talent. Reliance Intelligence creates homes for world-class researchers, engineers, designers and product builders, combining the speed of research with the rigour of engineering, ideas become innovation and applications, providing solutions to India and the world.
Reliance and Google Partnership
Ambani has announced a partnership between Google and AI. Google and Reliance are teaming up to set up a dedicated cloud region in Jamnagar, aimed at supporting the conglomerate's ambitious artificial intelligence (AI) push.
“Today, I am pleased to announce a deeper, comprehensive AI partnership with Google, a longtime partner. Through this partnership, we are married to Reliance's proven ability to run on the Indian scale of Google's leading cloud and AI technology.
Google CEO Sundar Pichai said: “Google and Reliance are partnering to help all Reliance businesses use AI to transform from energy and retail into telecommunications and financial services. To support this AI adoption, they are built for and dedicated to Reliance, combining the Jamnagar Cloud region.
As Reliance's biggest public cloud partner, Google Cloud not only powers its mission-critical workloads, but also innovates its advanced AI initiatives. And we are excited to use Reliance and the Jio Ecosystem to put AI into the hands of more people and businesses. This is just the beginning, Pichai said.
“India has always been a special place for Google. It's part of the world's most dynamic business, a thriving startup ecosystem and incredible creativity and ambition,” he added.
“We are also pleased to be able to announce a new India-centric joint venture with our close partner Meta. We want to combine the power of open source AI with the deep domain knowledge of Reliance across the industry. This means we will form a dedicated joint venture with Meta, combining open models with energy to provide energy, telecom, media, media and media and media workable materials in India.
Reliance partnership with Meta
Reliance has also announced an AI partnership with META.
Mukesh Ambani said: “We are pleased to announce today a new India-centric joint venture with our close relative, Meta.
“We're looking forward to seeing you in the future,” said Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg. “Meta and Reliance help to promote work by providing open source AI models to Indian companies. LAMA has seen how AI can increase human potential, increase creativity, increase creativity and accelerate innovation.
Llama's Open Source Foundation means that the technology can be tailored to the unique needs of every business, whether deployed through the cloud, on-site or dedicated infrastructure.
