The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has launched a national-level initiative (skills for AI preparation) aimed at embedding AI (AI) awareness and basic skills among Classe VI to XII students and building AI literacy for educators.

The programme is trying to close digital gaps by ensuring equitable access to AI education across the region, thus supporting a comprehensive and future-ready national agenda.

SOAR consists of three progressive 15-hour modules for students: AI that recognizes and acquires AI, and one independent 45-hour module for aiming to become AI. This program introduces concepts such as the fundamentals of AI, generation AI in everyday life, AI, programming fundamentals, ethics, cybersecurity, and future career opportunities.

By integrating AI education at the school level through SOAR, our youth will either be able to respond to work or to business. He speaks at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi's 10-year celebration of the Skill India Mission, Bharat Skillnxt 2025. MOS, Education, Sukanta Majumdar said: “National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 mainstreams vocational education and places skills at the heart of India's educational journey. There are initiatives such as the national credit framework and integrated learning of SOAR and AI from the school level. Confidence, creativity, curiosity.”
