MITO AI raises $4.5 million in round. read the pitch deck

AI For Business

Artificial intelligence is revolutionizing video production.

Startup MITO AI is rolling out a new platform that allows filmmakers to storyboard, organize, and generate AI assets in one place. It is a project management tool for the age of generative AI filmmaking.

The company exclusively told Business Insider that it has raised $4.5 million in a pre-seed round led by Lightspeed Venture Partners. The company plans to launch the product on Thursday after testing with about 200 beta partners.

“Our tools connect video models, image models, audio models, and voice models, all brought together into an endless canvas for collaboration and experimentation,” said MITO co-founder Iñaki Berenguer.

While many AI video generators, such as OpenAI’s Sora and Google’s Veo, are limited to short-form clips, MITO wants to help creators combine short AI assets to create longer projects. It also provides collaboration features such as comments. MITO users can create new AI assets to match the style of their films through integration with platforms such as Runway, Veo 3, ComfyUI, and Pika.

Beyond the workflow platform, the startup also creates AI content for partners through its studio team.

MITO arrives at a moment of change for the media industry. Hollywood and advertising executives are testing AI tools for digital effects and commercials. Independent creators are using this technology to perfect their videos without breaking the bank. Meanwhile, actors, animators and other creators are frowning upon the technology, out of concern that some people will erase their jobs.

MITO is also entering a crowded category dominated by established companies like Adobe and startups like FLORA, which recently raised a $42 million funding round led by Redpoint Ventures.
