Government Announces Telecom Industry Forum Advisory Board and Action Plan
The Advisory Board of the UK Telecoms Innovation Network has been announced. UKTIN has received his £10m funding from the Ministry of Science and Technology to boost research, development and innovation in the UK telecommunications ecosystem. Part of the £250m Open Networks Research and Development Fund, it will transform the UK telecommunications innovation landscape, fostering collaboration and partnerships and unlocking new opportunities for innovation.
The Advisory Board is chaired by UK telecommunications industry pioneer Dr Mike Short, who was Chief Scientific Advisor to the Department for International Trade from November 2017 to February this year. Other members are:

UKTIN is the line used by UK telecommunications companies to inform the government of future policies.
UKTIN’s services include R&D expert support, an online community for entrepreneurs, start-ups and university spinouts, and a framework for creating commercial products from early stage technology.
UKTIN helps with funding routes, opportunities to discover innovators, access to testbeds, labs and other testing facilities.
It also facilitates access to training and jobs.
