Meta hired four more AI (AI) researchers from Openai. information I've reported it. New recruits are Shengjia Zhao, Shuchao Bi, Jiahui Yu and Hongyu Ren. Their employment comes after the recent recruitment of Trapit Bansal, Lucas Beyer, Alexander Kolesnikov, and Shaofauzai, who worked in Openrai's Zurich office.
Pushing Meta to Strengthen AI Teams
The latest recruits will appear as part of Meta's aggressive recruitment strategy, particularly following the April launch of the Llama 4 AI model. The model didn't live up to CEO Mark Zuckerberg's expectations and sparked criticism of the version of the llama used for the popular benchmark. This contributes to the promotion of Openai's more talented meta.

The recruitment drive led to a certain amount of back and forth between the two companies. Openai CEO Sam Altman claimed that Meta is offering to “sign a $100 million bonus,” but added, “so far, none of our best people are.” In response, Meta CTO Andrew Bosworth revealed to workers that, although senior leaders may have been offered such a favorable package, “actual terms of the offer” were more complicated than a simple one-off signature bonus.
