Bakersfield, Calif. (KERO) – Meta is running AI training sessions across California to help small businesses step up marketing, improve employment posting and make data-driven decisions. We will be holding our first event in Bakersfield.
This is part of a statewide effort to help businesses boost marketing, write better work posts, and make smarter decisions with data. Meta AI is moving across the state to spread the skills AI brings. To get things started, they first started here in Bakersfield.
“It can be hard to say that you don't know how AI can help me and let me see you where you are,” said director of Meta's California Public Policy Mona Paskill Rogers.
Throughout the seminar, Rogers says he is working to teach people about the tools rather than eliminate the narrative that AI will replace workers.
This happened Wednesday morning at the Greater Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce.
AI tools can demonstrate that improving marketing materials, creating open position job statements, and even analyzing sales data can help you make business decisions.
“I have a friend who owns a distribution company, a beer distribution company. [he says] We didn't have many people because it was a small company, but we knew how to use AI to move our products in the most efficient way,” Rogers said.
David Perkins, owner and publisher of Greet Seven Oaks Magazine, says he has been using AI in his business for many years, and uses it like a business partner, believing it can be used in any work environment.
“Talking to AI is like talking to one of your employees or someone you work with. If you're providing that person and in this case you'll get better information and better results.
Rogers says the event is the first five community accelerator AI training meta to take place across California.
“There are a lot of tools out there, and you'll check out the meta AI and see if it can help you, but how can you help you? You can see if the tool has a place or how you can figure out where the AI fits into your operations,” Rogers said.
By directing AI training directly to small business owners, Meta hopes to make powerful tools more accessible and practical in all aspects of daily life.
