Arcadian’s custom AI solutions are significantly increasing productivity and efficiency in the warehousing and logistics sector.
Melbourne-based digital solutions agency arcadian has announced that it has entered into innovative project agreements with four clients in the logistics and warehousing sector to deliver custom AI solutions that are expected to generate combined business savings of more than $20 million over the next 12 months.
The agreements with Bowens Timber and Hardware, Minus 1, uTenant, and SteelChief represent a major step in how midmarket operators leverage artificial intelligence.
Rather than deploying off-the-shelf products, these organizations are building bespoke operational layers that integrate data from transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), CRMs, and internal platforms.
Across contracted projects, clients expect to see reduced staff workload and overtime, faster delivery times, improved on-time delivery rates, and increased customer visibility and reliability. The expected $20 million in savings will come from efficiency gains rather than headcount reductions.
The solution is API-first, so rather than requiring a complete system overhaul, it integrates with existing legacy software and allows clients to deploy it gradually without disrupting operations.
keep up with growth
Bill Barba, CEO of refrigerated transport logistics provider Minus 1, said Arcadian’s efforts have helped the business keep up with rapid growth and increasing customer demand.
“We have grown from a core transportation business to an end-to-end logistics business that includes cold chain warehousing, transportation and broader logistics solutions, which means far more moving parts than previously,” Barba said.
“We had a TMS, WMS, GPS tracking, refrigeration unit temperature monitoring, and financial dashboards, but they weren’t communicating with each other in a sophisticated way. The TMS in particular couldn’t keep up with the growth of our business and the integration requirements our customers were demanding.
“We mapped everything in Arcadian and thought about how it would work. The result is what we call the Minus 1 Hub, which is a middleware layer where everything centralizes. We could go back to the dashboard. We quickly realized we didn’t need to rebuild from scratch. What we had was already working. We just needed something in between to connect the dots.”

“If we couldn’t achieve full integration, we risked losing commercial contracts. Arcadian solved that for us. It’s now about optimizing the flow between other platforms and building operational tools that are never embedded within, but can work alongside, existing systems.”Barba said that if these types of optimizations and insights surface, they will likely have a major impact across the broader transportation and logistics industry.
“I think it’s absolutely essential for companies in our situation, large or small, to look to optimize with AI,” he said.
“There is significant downward pressure on interest rates, costs are rising and government support is minimal. Discretionary spending continues to tighten. So the question is where do we find opportunities to maintain or improve margins? That comes from being smarter about what we are doing and looking across all lines of business to see if there is a better way to do it.”“We’ve found very few areas in business where AI isn’t useful. It’s just a matter of finding the time to develop and deploy AI. In an ideal world, we’d be able to run 150 projects at a time on Arcadian. We just have to do it in a way that works for us.”
Barba praised the Arcadian team for quickly understanding the business’s needs and delivering on them.
“In almost every case with Arcadian, they took the brief, processed it, and came back with great results. Their ability to understand our business challenges and deliver a product that worked for everyone from the warehouse floor to the executive team was outstanding,” he said.

Arcadian’s technology connects fragmented data sources such as ERP systems, public map data, traffic feeds, weather data, and geospatial data into a single operational view.
Using Python for data processing and Node.js and Next.js for scalable application and interface layers, the platform identifies demand patterns and optimizes routes, schedules, and priorities in real-time.
For our clients, this means a system that automatically identifies load and demand patterns and surfaces exceptions, risks, and operational bottlenecks before they cause delays.
The platform also automates NLP-based communication between systems, staff, and customers to continuously reprioritize jobs based on real-world conditions.
This approach marks a departure from general-purpose software to context-aware operating systems.
The transportation and logistics sector transforms AI from a reporting tool to a practical mechanism for everyday efficiency. Operators can make better use of their existing infrastructure and rely less on manual adjustments.
Adrian Randall, Arcadian’s managing director, said the contract win demonstrated the company’s focus on applied automation rather than laboratory technology.
“Over the past three years, we have invested heavily in AI to infuse AI into our internal operations. This has enabled us to become a leader in AI solutions in Melbourne and across Australia. In 2026, we are seeing a surge in inquiries for AI solutions, from transport and logistics to financial funds and manufacturing,” he said.
“This is the beginning of a critical period that will drive a wedge between companies that are integrating AI and automation into their daily operations and those that are not.”
As the rollout progresses, Arcadian expects to see further efficiency gains from AI and automation across the four initiatives.
