Prime Video is about to undergo a major change with several enhancements from a complete redesign that will not only streamline content curation but also make all of its streaming services easier to access.
The biggest change is the new content-forward navigation bar. Home, Movies, TV Shows, Sports, and Live TV are all visible at the top of the screen, making it easy to find the right content at the right time. After these vertical menus, the navigation bar will show other streamers you subscribe to, including Starz, MGM Plus, Paramount Plus, and Max.
Prime Video is making it easier to discover recommended shows and movies by labeling Prime Video content more clearly. Amazon is The best AI tools To better showcase shows and movies on Prime Video banners.
This new experience will officially roll out globally across all major devices today.
An all-new Prime Video experience
Amazon's Prime Video is one of the most beloved streamers thanks to its wide selection of great shows, including “The Boys,” “Reacher,” “Fallout,” and “The Summer I Turned Pretty.” But it can often be a bit confusing to browse through the vast amount of content, which includes not only Prime Video original shows and movies but also shows and movies from other streamers.
But after today's update, Prime Video's content curation looks more compelling than ever. Amazon is introducing simple Prime Video tags for shows and movies that clearly identify them as originals, so you know what show you're clicking on and can instantly find your top 10 shows.
At the top of the main page is a newly redesigned navigation bar that includes all the major categories, including “Movies,” “TV Shows,” “Sports,” and “Live TV.” Beyond that is a new “Subscriptions” listing, making it much easier to sign up for other streaming services like Max, Paramount Plus, and find specific content.
Starting today, customers will also see more readable summaries of content, as Amazon has leveraged multiple private LLMs to provide better synopses of movies and TV shows. Amazon is also leveraging Amazon's Bedrock generative AI capabilities to power content recommendations, with more recommendation categories like “Trending Shows” and “US Top 10” that should make content discovery even easier on Prime.
If that wasn't enough, Prime Video's new redesign also includes optimizations like zoom effects, smoother page transitions, and new animations to make the content hub even more engaging and easier to navigate.
As mentioned above, the new Prime Video experience is rolling out globally starting today on all devices, including older models. Amazon also claims that it aims to make Prime Video one of the best streaming services with seamless navigation, best-in-class entertainment, and subscription integrations, and that this new redesign is just the beginning.
