Luma AI, the developer of AI tools such as Dream Machine and Ray3, has announced a significant step in its global expansion with the opening of its first international office in London, its main production location.
“To build intelligence that truly serves the world’s creators, Luma AI will collaborate with them in their markets, cultures, and workflows,” Luma AI said. “London is uniquely positioned as a global center for advertising, brands and entertainment, and this is the first step in our strategy.”
Former WPP and Monks executive Jason Day will lead international business development, strategic partnerships and client expansion outside the US from the London office.
Amit Jain, CEO of Luma AI, said, “We have the capital and capability to bring world-class AI to creators everywhere. Launching across EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) is a natural next step in putting this power directly into the hands of storytellers, agencies, and brands around the world.”
The company plans to create 200 roles across research, engineering, partnerships and strategic development in London in 2026. By 2028, the company expects to have “significantly added roles across the UK, Europe and Saudi Arabia as new workflows emerge in advertising, brand and entertainment.”
“Jason brings a rare combination of commercial strategy, international growth experience, and deep understanding of the creative sector,” said Caroline Ingeborn, Luma AI’s COO, regarding Day’s hire. “His leadership at Monks and across WPP, particularly expanding our large cross-border teams and building customer relationships in markets such as London, Munich and Riyadh, makes him the ideal leader to drive this next chapter. With Jason at the helm from London, Luma AI will be able to put creative intelligence directly into the hands of marketers and storytellers around the world.”
Added: “Luma AI is the world leader in developing multimodal artificially generated intelligence (AGI) for the creative industries. Putting that intelligence into the hands of creative professionals around the world – marketers, gamers, movie studios, and more – transforms the entire creative process.”
Luma AI is backed by Humain, Andreessen Horowitz, AWS, AMD Ventures, NVIDIA, Amplify Partners, and Matrix Partners.
