LG U+’s total revenue in 2025 rose 5.7% year-on-year to 15.45 trillion won ($11.6 billion), due to a sharp increase in the number of mobile phone subscribers following a data breach at a rival carrier and continued expansion of its data infrastructure business.
The company announced on Thursday that service revenue excluding device sales rose 3.5% to 12.26 trillion won, marking the highest growth rate in four years.
Operating profit increased by 3.4% compared to 2024 to 892.1 billion won, and net profit increased by 61.9% to 509.2 billion won, but this was mainly due to the absence of impairment losses on non-recurring assets of subsidiary LG Hello Vision, which had been putting pressure on profits in 2024.
Chief Financial Officer Yeo Myung-hee said at the results conference, “We improved profitability by reorganizing businesses with low profit margins and shifting focus to core businesses.” “We also revamped our customer service operations around our artificial intelligence (AI) contact center and accelerated the adoption of AI to drive efficiencies across our online and retail channels.”
The mobile division continued to be the company’s biggest growth driver. The segment’s revenue increased 3.7% year-on-year to 6.67 trillion won, supported by an increase in subscribers and improved customer satisfaction.
The total number of wireless subscribers, including mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) users, reached over 30.71 million, an increase of 7.7% year-on-year. MVNO subscriber numbers have grown by more than 10% each year for seven consecutive years, and mobile carrier subscriber numbers have increased by 6.6%.
Sales of the enterprise infrastructure division, which includes AI data centers, solutions, and enterprise dedicated lines, increased 6% year-on-year to 1.81 trillion won. The growth was mainly driven by the AI data center business, which increased by 18.4% to 422 billion won.
The company cited the completion of the Gasan data center in western Seoul last year and said its performance improved as it entered the design, construction and operation of data center projects. The company plans to position the data center currently under construction in Paju City, Gyeonggi Province as a next-generation facility that will support the future growth of its colocation business.
An LG Uplus official said, “Customer demand for the new AI data center in Paju City has already been secured, and we are actively considering a second phase of expansion as further demand is expected.”
The company also plans to deepen cooperation with domestic and foreign financial investors to strengthen its market presence.
In its solutions business, LG Uplus plans to enhance its AI capabilities with new products such as Agentic Callbot Pro scheduled to be launched this year to help enterprise customers accelerate their digital transformation and improve productivity.
