LG Uplus will collaborate with IBK System to develop artificial intelligence services optimized for the financial sector.

On April 6th, LG U+ and IBK System signed a memorandum of cooperation regarding AI business centered on finance at IBK System’s headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul.

Under the agreement, the two companies will combine LG Uplus’s AI capabilities and IBK System’s financial domain expertise to develop financial-focused AI services. AI will be implemented in the form of an agent that can be used in actual financial settings, such as credit screening and platforms that support small and medium-sized business owners in raising funds.

LG Uplus’ B2B AX platform will be used for service development. This platform is an intelligent work innovation system based on enterprise work agents. It incorporates the optimization model of EXAONE, a large-scale generation AI developed by LG AI Research Institute. This enables the construction of customized AI agents for enterprises.

LG Uplus’ B2B AX platform provides an integrated package by developing in-house the main functions necessary for implementing AI agents, such as agent core, knowledge management system (KMS), and large-scale language model operations (LLMOps).

The two companies will also expand their cooperation with the goal of structural innovation across financial operations. The two companies will pursue cooperation across multiple areas, including joint planning of financial services and business cooperation, identification of new business models, commercialization and joint marketing of services for the financial sector, and promotion of next-generation intelligent financial businesses.

Kwon Yong-hyun (권용현), head of enterprise division and vice president of LG U+, said that by combining LG U+’s AI technology with IBK System’s accumulated financial business expertise and data utilization capabilities, it will be possible to create a synergistic effect that will lead innovation in the financial industry. He said he hopes this will be a starting point for setting new standards for the Korean financial AI market.

Hyeon Kwon-ik, CEO of IBK System, said the agreement is significant as it combines the capabilities of both companies to set a new milestone in the next generation of intelligent financial markets. He said the two companies will become reliable partners in providing top-level AI-based IT services to customers.
