Reston, Virginia, January 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Leidos (NYSE: LDOS) and OpenAI are partnering to deploy artificial intelligence to support national priorities, including increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of government agencies.

The companies plan to integrate open AI-powered generative and agent AI into the core workflows of customers in strategic markets such as digital modernization, health services, national security and infrastructure, and defense. These are the cornerstones of Leidos’ NorthStar 2030 growth strategy.

“Leidos and OpenAI are harnessing the transformative power of AI to help improve the way federal agencies operate,” said Ted Tanner, Leidos Chief Technology Officer. “We are working together to improve productivity and accelerate product development and delivery using OpenAI’s most powerful models in secure configurations designed to protect Leidos and customer data.”

“Government adoption of AI must start with trust, security, and mission relevance,” said Joseph Larson, vice president of government affairs at OpenAI. “With Leidos’ deep understanding of federal operations and OpenAI’s cutting-edge AI technology, we are helping government agencies move beyond experimentation to real-world deployments that improve efficiency, resiliency, and public services.”

In addition to incorporating OpenAI innovations into their core operational systems, all Leidos customers will benefit from Leidos’ internal automation and product design and delivery acceleration. That’s why thousands of Leidos employees rely on OpenAI’s ChatGPT and API platform every day.

“Our IT strategy includes providing effective and scalable AI tools to our employees around the world,” Tanner said. “With OpenAI, we are going beyond generative AI to develop custom agent workflows that significantly improve efficiency. We are integrating OpenAI’s models with our own AI tools to accelerate the execution of a variety of knowledge work, including global threat assessment, supply chain monitoring, and deepfake detection.”
